@Amias

Dear Amias,

I respect and accept your inputs. Thank you maam : )

I first came across Acrostics while dealing with some ciphers when i was into cryptography around six-seven years back. The word Acrostic comes from Greek word Akros(Top) + Stics(verse). Usually the first, middle or last alphabets when read top-down, or skip read(at patterns) at words, or lines, or verses which form meaningful phrase/words; then its an acrostic. I googled up a bit to satisfy my curiosity and found that it doesn't necessarily have to be separated by syllables. You might want to consider looking at the earlier usage of acrostics in the prophecies of the Erythraean Sibyl, or even the Hebrew Bible. The best can be found in the triple acrostic by Thomas Browne :) However, if it is a constraint put for the prompts at Acrostic Only, I respect it and will attempt it in that way :)

I have updated my post so that there are no syllable breaks now :)

Also I dont think the word formations in acrostic strictly have to point at the whole subject, it can be the source to the subject, lead to a conclusion, define the body of the content and also can be something totally different(specially in the crypted acrostic messages).

You definitely master this type of poetry Amias and most of the times, am amazed by the simplicity and punch of your muse. Its a treat to read and offers us lot to learn : ) I really admire your work and this initiative of yours.. specially how religiously you encourage all fellow participants.. It is Commendable!!!

Thank you so much for taking time to respond, despite your busy schedule. It was a learning curve for me, and am very thankful for that.

May God Bless!! : )
